Asia is the largest user of broadband technology in the world and there is still plenty of room for growth but regulatory obstacles must be eased.According to a report on a telecom conference and trade exhibition in Singapore, published in Dawn,the region has been the biggest wireless broadband user last year.

The increasing no of Asian broadband user is also fueling greator bandwidth usage.South Koreans, who used one megabit of bandwidth less than five years ago, are now using 11 megabits, Asian ,particularly Chinese are leading the rest of the world in broadband subscription numbers ,Said Robin Mersh ,Cheif operating officers of Broadband Forum , a global consortium promoting high-speed internet access.With 113 Millions broadband subscribers as of the first quarter of 2010,China was way ahead of US , Which placed second with 87 Million subscribtions.

Smartphone ,internet-enabled televisions and gaming platforms ,which can go online like Xbox 360, are putting pressure on networks.
