

The above two figures are the graphical explanation of what I am going to state in this blog post. The picture on the left shows previous balance and the figure on the right shows new balance after a balance inquiry is performed. You can see a difference of 12 Paisa in both balances. Don’t forget the 1 Paisa tax which got cut at the time of recharging. So, the news is that from today i.e. 1st September 2009, if you check your balance, you will get charged 13 Paisa inclusive of all taxes for each balance inquiry.
Cellular companies have already sent SMS notifications to their subscribers about the charges on balance inquiries in the name of proving better customer services from September 1, 2009. Governmental institutes already gave telecom companies the right to charge whatever they want after issuing a thirty days prior notice via any medium.
However, Warid is not charging for balance inquiries at the moment. We have checked this just now on our test SIM that Warid is not charging for balance inquiries yet. But expect that the company will also start charging soon because of lesser profit margin in Telecom industry these days.
